LOL.  I had some crashing issues once.  When I enabled -5 5 and maybe
... -k?, to try to debug  - it stopped crashing...

If it works for you chalk it up to the digital gremlins...

The virtual server has a virtual NIC (venet0) and ntop sees that NIC to
collect data. In the log at /var/log I don't see enything at standard
setting.

I raised the trace level to 5 (-t 5) and now for some very weird reason
it works although I see nothing at all in /var/log when I open a web
page. I will keep alook at it and see if it keeps working reliable.
