Tim
it might be that ntop has troubles decoding some packets flowing in your network. A debugging session (gdb etc) is necessary, however I suggest you to use the ntop code that's on SVN first and see if it works.

I'm running ntop 3.31 on a RHEL5 system. It installed without a problem,
and starts right up without any errors:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] log]# /etc/init.d/ntop start
Starting ntop: Processing file /etc/ntop.conf for parameters...
Fri Dec 14 21:50:24 2007 NOTE: Interface merge enabled by default
Fri Dec 14 21:50:24 2007 Initializing gdbm databases

It runs for a few minutes; I can go to the web page. But after a couple of
minutes:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] log]# ps -ef|grep ntop
root 9698 5698 0 21:55 pts/0 00:00:00 grep ntop

Syslog shows the startup - but nothing at all when the process dies.

I'm not sure where to start tracking this one down. A nudge in the right
direction wouldc be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
