Dear Parents & Guardians,
This has been a wonderful year so far at NT. We continue to celebrate academic,
athletic and extra-curricular success and our students are shining in so many
different areas.
This past athletic season has been amazing. Our students have competed at the
provincial level in skiing, snowboarding and swimming and our boys' varsity
hockey team is off to compete after March Break in Peterborough.
Congratulations to all of our athletes and coaches.
Our school community has shown once again that they care. The results are in
from our Charity Week endeavours. NT student, staff and parent generosity has
helped to raise $51,600! This is phenomenal, and the highest amount we have
ever raised. "Spread the Net" will receive the cheque soon and we will have a
special visit by Rick Mercer!
I hope you and your family have a restful, relaxing and fun March Break. We all
need a great break! When we return, the spring season will be extremely busy:
-a "District Review" on Tuesday, March 27th. All classrooms will be observed by
board staff as an opportunity to provide professional growth for staff to
better support the academic needs of your children.
-The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test for grade 10 students on Thursday,
March 29th.
-The Soda Pop Shop - a great night of Music, Art & Food on Thursday, March 29th.
-Report Card distribution - Wednesday, April 11th.
-Opening of our senior art exhibition ("Mente") on Wednesday, April 25th
-Maytime Melodies May 3rd and 4th
-Our 100th Anniversary celebrations May 10th-12th.
The spring will be very exciting at NT!
I hope you all enjoy some great weather next week and some quality family time.
Best wishes,
Joel Gorenkoff
