Welcome to Term 2 at North Toronto! I'm thrilled to be following in the footsteps of Joel Gorenkoff. We wish him well at Lawrence Park; he will always hold a place in our hearts here at North Toronto. Welcome Vice-Principal Jennifer Kurtz! Jennifer comes to us from Humberside CI; we are excited to welcome her to the NT family. Jennifer will have responsibility for students with surnames A to L. Thank you to the amazing Guidance department for their detailed and informative course selection assemblies for both students and parents! Course selection sheets are DUE February 15 to HF teachers in period 1. Report card distribution - Thursday, February 9 PA Day: Friday, February 17 - no classes Family Day: Monday, February 20 - no classes Drama News! North Toronto's annual event called On Stage Tonight! will showcase a one act play, Selfie, and other shorter dramatic works on Thurs. Feb. 16. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 6:30. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance during lunches and at the door. Proceeds from this show will go to support The Maddie Project. Measuring What Matters - February 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Northern Secondary School Are our schools teaching students the skills they need to be successful? Schools have traditionally focused on literacy and numeracy but there is growing recognition that skills such as creativity and resilience are equally important for the workplace and to lead healthy, meaningful lives.
