Spring Athletic Update
When spring finally arrived in May, NT had 10 teams excited to compete and play
some games in the sunshine after a cold spring start.

Here are a few highlights:

Ultimate Frisbee
Seniors: After a passion-filled season of exciting games, the senior team lost
a close game to Parkdale in the regional semifinals.
Juniors: The Junior team went undefeated this year resulting in a second
consecutive South Region and City Championship.

Archery
The Archery club members met at lunch on a weekly basis throughout the duration
of the year. The competitive team was formed and had a great showing with the
boy's team winning silver at the TDSB City Finals.

Table Tennis
The table tennis club and team enjoyed another great season. The team ended up
finishing 3rd in our division and lost a very close quarter-final match to
Malvern in a final score of 6 - 7. Great effort to all the members of the
team, better luck next year.

Track and Field
Bolstered by a strong group of girls, more than half the team qualified for
the Metro Regional Championships. Four girls went on to OFSAA and posted great
times! The team is commended for their commitment to morning practices and
all-day meets during the busiest time of the academic school year!

Rugby
Boys: Despite having a smaller number of team players, the boys came up big in
commitment to practices and games earning a playoff position at the end of the
season. Well done and we hope to see more boys playing out on the field next
year!

Girls: We had a great turnout for girls' rugby this spring with 30 girls. With
experienced grade 12 veterans leading and teaching the new grade 9 girls, we
continued to grow as the season went on. We learned from our mistakes and we
are really excited to see this team grow next year!

Varsity Girls Soccer
After placing first in Tier 2 last year, the girls' soccer team was moved up to
a competitive Tier 1 level. They had a fantastic Tier 1 season making it to the
semi -finals in Tier 1! They were defeated in the semi-finals by a team that
went on to win OFSAA.

Softball
A new crew of talented grade 9 girls joined the team this year! We had a fun
season developing our skills and learning the game. The season ended with an
intense playoff game making spectacular catches in the outfield and double
plays on the infield only coming up short with runs in the last inning of the
game against the first place team. Well played girls!

Baseball
This year's baseball team was comprised of 8 graduating grade twelve students
who led the Norsemen to a great season. After finishing the regular season
strong, the team lost a tough quarterfinal game against Northern 5-4. We are
looking forward to our young players leading the way in the years to come.

Congratulations to all the athletes for their achievements, especially to those
athletes who are graduating and have been an integral part of NT Athletics for
the past four years.
We had over 35 teams, sports clubs plus intramurals operate this year at NT!
Thanks to all the coaches who generously donate their time to our students and
to our Administration who help provide the resources to support our teams.
Have a healthy and active summer!
