It is with mixed emotion that I let you know Superintendent of Education Kathleen Garner will be retiring in December. Kathleen has been an educator for over 33 years and served in many capacities - not matter what role, Kathleen was approachable and kept students success and wellbeing always at the heart of her decisions. Diana Panagiotopoulos, Centrally Assigned Principal in Learning Centre (LC) 2, who brings her 15 years as an administrator will be our new Acting Superintendent of Education in LC 1, Learning Network 6. Diana has also served as Principal at both Victoria Park C.I. and Don Mills C.I., and according to her colleagues, always focussing on deep collaboration with Principal colleagues and teachers to improve student achievement and well-being - and a strong supporter of meaningful student and parent engagement in our system. I know you join me in wishing Kathleen well on her retirement and welcoming Diana. School Council news!
