Acknowledgements, Upcoming Events & Dates Mon. Feb. 3: Grade 10 "Believe" assembly The Believe Keynote by Olympian Sarah Wells is designed to engage and inspire students to adopt a mindset that will allow them to see past the barriers they face. Many of today's youth will encounter obstacles along their journey and some will consider giving up in a moment of adversity. During this critical adolescent time, it is important we talk about being resilient, believing in yourself and learning through our mistakes and obstacles. This assembly kicks off a ten-day unit in all Term 2 Grade 10 Career Studies classes. Mon. Feb. 3: The Republic Residents' Association (representing residents of 25 Broadway and 70 Roehampton) invite the school community to their annual general meeting from 7:30-9:30pm at 70 Roehampton in the party room. There will be several important guest speakers who will update residents on the area development: Stuart McGhie: construction hub coordinator for Yonge/Eglinton Josh Matlow: Councillor, ward 12 Jaye Robinson: Councillor, ward 15 Jill Andrew: MPP, Toronto St. Paul's Thurs. Feb. 6: Report card distribution - report card packages will be distributed to students during Home Form period. Report card packages will include: 1. Grades 9, 11 and 12 students: February interim report cards 2. Grade 10 and ESL students: February interim report cards (white) and Provincial report cards (blue) indicating final marks in Civic/Careers and/or ESL classes Thurs. Feb. 6: Joint Ward Forum at North Toronto CI (6:30-8:30pm in room 215) Join Trustee Shelley Laskin & Trustee Rachel Chernos Lin for a Joint Ward Forum with Special Guest TDSB Director John Malloy. Director Malloy will discuss the important work we are doing in relation to the Multi-Year Strategic Plan and will highlight the Secondary Program Review, French programming and other current issues. The Trustees will be available for a Q & A following the Director's presentation. >From Public Health! >From Toronto Public Health! Toronto Public Health is assessing student immunization records to ensure student vaccinations are up-to-date according to their age. Students who are not yet in compliance with the Immunization of School Pupils Act have been sent a letter requesting updated immunization information to their home address. Parents/guardians are encouraged to report their child's updated immunization to Toronto Public Health online at the following link: toronto.ca/studentvaccines or contact TPH at (416-392-1250). The system is secure, fast and easy to use. Students who have not updated their immunization records may face a school suspension starting February 6, 2020. Wed. Feb. 12: Course Selection Sheets 2020 DUE in Home Form class. Parents are asked to ensure that the My Blueprint Course Sign-Off Sheet is signed and submitted by their son/daughter on Wed. Feb. 12 during Home Form class (i.e. at 9am). Course selection sign-off sheets will only be accepted if they are signed by a parent. Any course selection sign-off sheet submitted after Home Form class on Wed. Feb. 12 will be considered as late; this may impact your son/daughter's programming choices for next year. Fri.
