TORONTO — Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 outbreak, the Ontario government
announced that schools and child care centres will remain closed to protect the
health and safety of students and staff. This extension is being made on the
advice of the Chief Medical Officer of Health.

You should also be receiving a letter from the TDSB's Director of Education
later this evening with further details about remote learning and assessment
for secondary students in the board.

Starting on Monday April 6th, teachers at North Toronto will engage in distance
learning with their students using a variety of platforms and their own
professional judgement and discretion. Learning will take on a variety of
forms and may include online learning, phone connections, assignments submitted
by email, online classrooms, off-line tasks and more. Please encourage your
children to check the virtual platform that their teacher uses for further
instructions, posted work and timelines for the short term.

As well, please encourage your children to reach out to the school
administration, their Guidance counsellor or their classroom teacher for
ongoing support.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate our way
through these truly unprecedented times.
