I subsequently learned today that the particular wireless nic I speak of (intel 6235) is notoriously problematic right now, so I don’t blame meraki.

That said, the laptop's wifi card (Intel) is a real pain even if Meraki is not part of the picture. On both Win 8 and 7 it will not re-connect to any SSID for many long minutes after resuming from sleep. It is much faster to shut it down and restart. Every time. Annoying as he77.
