OK, while we are on the nostalgia train..... my first PC had an AMD DX40 
chip. Bought from ABS out of Computer Shopper. I truly miss the Loft of 
Doom and Pepsi Cola.

it also has intel at the bottom. I have that very chip in my drawer. I 
saved it because it was an Intel/AMD chip, which I found funny. It was 
only years later that I realized it was a 286.

  I'm amused that /The Register/ has a photo of a microchip, captioned
"Intel's 16-bit x86 microprocessor"... the chip is clearly marked with
the AMD name and logo.  :)
