It's a bit confusing. In ADSI Edit, what you see as the "comment" attribute is the User-Comment attribute (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms675455(v=vs.85).aspx). It has an LDAP display name of "comment", and a CN of "User-Comment". I don't think that the "User-Comment" attribute shows up by default on any of the user account property pages.
The "info" attribute, as Christopher shows below, has an LDAP display name of "info" and a CN of "comment". The screenshot of the "info" attribute is from the Active Directory Schema MMC snap-in (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755885(v=WS.10).aspx). Hmmm ... using ADSI Edit, for my user account, I see that the attribute "comment" is not set. But the attribute "info" is set, and has the value that I see in ADU&C under "Notes" ... That's why I am confused. Can anyone shed some light as to where I am going wrong? (this is for Win 2008 R2) BTW, what program showed you that information for the attribute in a GUI tab like that? ADSI shows it as "info", which I don't see as that name in that list. And clicking on a few of the attributes that have "info" in the name returns information that doesn't seem to list maximum size of the entry, at least for the 3 or 4 I spot-checked. ----------------------------------------- This message, and any attachments to it, may contain information that is privileged, confidential, and exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
