Just wondering since you say that these are 40GB Sata Drives are they Sata1 Drives? Maybe the speed of the drive is getting in your way. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sam Cayze Sent: Tuesday, August 13, 2013 10:44 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [NTSysADM] Cloning drives... over the LAN? Yes. But still doesn't alleviate my problem. I have plenty of local cloning options up my sleeve. Just a thought but, did the SSDs come with its own software to "clone" to the new drive? Mine did, though I chose to do a fresh install. Swapping a lot of my users HDs to SSDs. I've been doing this after the user leaves for the day, connecting the drive via SATA, and cloning. ~40GB, and takes me about 2 hours each. Need to a way to speed this up. These are all laptops which the user almost always takes home. Is there a product that will seed a drive over the lan during the day, then do one last incremental/verify to the cloned drive when I'm ready for the final switch? Then I can do most of the cloning during the day and limit user down time. (And my time). -Sam Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail, including any attachments is the property of Catholic Health East and is intended for the sole use of the intended recipient(s).
