Hank, We are under the same constraints plus others and the application has been completely approved; we have never had an auditor complaint or other recommendation. Also we have been using it since it's introduction (I think over 10 years) and have never had a security related issue.
The data is stored on a "cloud" as is everything these days (may go by other names but is affectively the same) but it is not publicly available and is located deep underground in a very secure site, Iron Mountain. There are other backup services accessible on semi public clouds, by way of the internet as you know, but for this one an installed agent is the only way to connect and all connections are very secure. I am not selling Connected and it is not perfect, other than its security record. For server/data center backups we do have an in-house system for quicker file restoration and other reasons I cannot discus in this forum.
