Good point. We're actually working on the upgrade to 2012 R2 so it may be
something we just wait on until then, depending on timelines.

Also, I would recommend you test the recovery process out after enabling the
recycle bin, if sticking with 2008 R2 as it will be much easier if you know how
to do it in a pinch. I did see demo'd with 2012 R2 it becomes exposed in the
AD Administrative Center GUI, along with FGPP, which is really nice.

I'd like to enable the AD recycle bin functionality in our domain and in order
to do that will need to raise the functional level from 2008 to 2008R2. So far
I haven't run into anything to worry about with that but wanted to ask if there
were any gotchas anyone had run into during the process. I've done a few of
these in the past with no issues but we've since added Exchange to the mix so
that's my main concern. Single forest, single domain, multiple sites.
