Probably because the old list never stopped working, it just died functionally. 
 AFAIK, they're still sending out quarterly admin notices, etc.

I was active on there a few years back, but got wrapped up in life and work, 
and I stopped checking this email account....but just signed up for this new 
list last night. So, its been a while - I've missed you guys...ASB, MBS,
