  I have the same impression.  But I also have the impression that volume had 
been dropping steadily even before the transition (with a bigger jump for the 
transition).  I suspect as the world becomes more webified, the appeal of 
mailing lists like this as a source of knowledge diminishes.

  This may not be all bad.  For example, it certainly seems like the Microsoft 
website forums have a much higher concentration of dumb questions.  Perhaps 
they're like flypaper for idiots?  ;-)
