Depending on the needs to be filled by the backup - something like Spideroak for
up to 2Gb of encrypted storage FREE -

Sync facility to keep multiple PC's updated data is encrypted before upload, so
you'll need the key to decrypt a download

Can run as background to detect changed files in specified folders, or whenever
you start it manually

You specify when and how frequently to look at the file system

Keeps historic copies so you have something to go back to when you empty and
save a spreadsheet or document, or even delete the file.

And - if you get a lightning strike, or someone visits your home and then
resells your kit, you do have an external source to get back the files
containing all your years of typing.

Subject: [NTSysADM] storage spaces?

Any opinions about this? I was looking at it as an option for storing backups
and maybe for media and backup server at home. A simple box with some NAS
drives would be more economical than dedicated RAID hardware.

Thanks.

Bill
