We have a television display (LCD) mounted up on a wall in out truck drivers
break room that has a networked PC connected to it. At present all it is doing
is auto-logging onto the domain using a generic account and bringing up a
weather web page in kiosk mode. I’m going to show some supervisors how to
access it so that they can have it run powerpoint slide shows, etc …

One of the supervisors asked a question about using it as a large display, ala
a projector, if you will, that he could use to conduct training sessions back
there with the drivers. My initial answer was “yeah we can do that … “ but
then I thought about it for a minute and was like “… oh wait … that won’t
work.” I was just going to have him rdp onto the session but …. as I’m sure
most in here know the local display will go blank when hijacked in such a
manner. ☹

Are there *any* native, and preferably free, windows solutions to get remote
control of a remote machine AND have that machines screen NOT go blank AND not
require any user intervention? ( ie; yeah – let Brian the supervisor connect )

I’ve run the question re: using VNC up to my immediate supervisor (I don’t know
if it is “illegal” to use here in our company or not … ). Hopefully they
won’t have any issues with it – but if they do – you guys have any ideas?
