If the printers were deployed using the Print Management Console, they will be removed when the printer is deleted from the associated GP. If the printers were manually added, I don’t believe there is an automated client approach to pruning old printers (but someone can correct me if I’m mistaken).
While I’ve never done this, I imagine that if you used the “Replace” option in GPP, this would also remove the printer when you delete it from GPP. -Aakash Shah From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of CSSU NetAdmin Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2014 5:41 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [NTSysADM] Printers and Active Directory How do printers delete from a workstation if they are unlisted and removed from the print server in AD? Printers are deployed through AD with user rights however, if we change who has rights to a printer, the printer will remain on the person's workstation- who lost rights to it- and is not accessible. Aren't printers automatically removed from a person's machine if rights change or the printer is no longer shared?
