My experience has been that the printer(s) remain in the users’ printer list as “unavailable”.

Printers are deployed through AD with user rights however, if we change who has rights to a printer, the printer will remain on the person's workstation- who lost rights to it- and is not accessible. Aren't printers automatically removed from a person's machine if rights change or the printer is no longer shared?
