Pretty sure that half the fuel does not have a possible solution. :) I can do it with 1/6 fuel left (but I've never calculated the optimum).
And I have to say - it took me dozens of times to figure out how to do it without crashing. Neil did it the first time - in real time - and got it right. Damn impressive. One for others (like I said half the fuel), one for me (12x the fuel, I think it was), and the original card. I made it look easy with all the fuel....so much fun having the kids with better grades crash and burn.
