Thanks-those are the hits I was finding. I guess we are fortunate to not have seen this here yet. We got bit by something similar in the v6 series back in the day, but haven't seen this.

Sorry, to answer your question last time I saw it was on 67. Didn't see it on 71. You can reg delete the key and it will be fine. I just let the techs do it manually ....it's usually less than 6 per 3000. http://windowsexplored.com/2013/10/23/failed-java-uninstalls/ http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-winapps/java-installerdll-missing/42105ae3-8e22-4aa5-b4c0-56daabfcca9a From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Miller Bonnie L. Which version are you seeing this issue with, 7u71 or 7u72? Trying to search to see if we're going to run into this, but all I'm finding is hits from 2013 and earlier on this error. You are going to get a pop up that says: c:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\\installer.dll .....can't be found" Note the double back whack. I hate Java. Yes I did ok I'll try the manual Java update. Did you also update Java via GPO around the same time? Check and see if it updated, there is a nasty path bug that is leaving a dialog box you can't see on boot.....manually update Java if it is just a few machines. I have a few W8.1 systems that now take about 1 hour to re-boot just sitting at the "Please Wait" screen. Did some Googling did not get really any results, nothing in the event viewers. Tried to do a System Restore it failed. I tried to turn off the Hibernation file, still no go. Probably going to open a ticket with Microsoft but figured maybe some of you have any ideas? Thanks Stefan
