One does not simply refuse a Microsoft License request.

Just out of interest, what happens if you refuse to co-operate with them?

Very likely, someone has filed a complaint. (It very well could be an
ex-employee or a competitor.) But Microsoft takes those complaints very
seriously.

Just got an e-mail from Microsoft to do an Microsoft License Review:

We are requesting your support to conduct a License Review at “Name of Our
Company”, The primary goals of this engagement will be to establish a license
position baseline by reconciling installed Microsoft Software with purchase
records, and completing a high-level “Current State Assessment” of your SAM
policies and practices, with recommendations on how to optimize SAM within your
enterprise and present you with an official Effective License Position (ELP)
document

So is this an audit or what?
