I second looking into this. We have a 20-year old Epson Perfection 1640SU with a document feeder that has no drivers from the manufacturer for current operating systems. Under the "downloads" section of the Epson support site it actually suggests VueScan and gives a link to the Hamrick.com website (just one "m" in Hamrick, BTW). I've been using VueScan for 5+ years with the scanner; does what we need it to do.
