Kind of, I have posted this one a bunch, but again, the issue is 99% of the time the SCSIPORT.SYS. I have always fixed it from the BSoD and haven't tried the Compaq fix yet, but maybe this will help anyway. You need to boot off of your ERD Pro diskettes or some other software that allows you to boot from diskette and see the NTFS drives (if you don't have a way to do this, you will need to again some day, so buy ERD Pro) and copy SCSIPORT.SYS from the WINNT\$$NtUninstallQ299444$$ directory back to WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS. You will see that one is 36K and one is 37K (or is it 56 and 57, can't remember now). When you reboot the BSoD goes away. I am hoping that this will also solve your 4 dots issue, but I can't guarantee it. If you don't have ERD Pro and you can't buy ERD Pro, then you will need to install NT to another directory, boot from there and then copy the file using the old directory path. Hope one of those helps. BTW, Compaq says that if you re-run the SSD after running the SPs and HFs, but before you reboot, you shouldn't bluescreen. I have found this to be untrue, but it is worth a shot. I would virtually guarantee that if you had run the cp001095.exe before rebooting, you would have been O.K. JayW >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 08/24/01 11:26AM >>> I have a Compaq Prolaint 5500 (NT 4.0 SP6a) w Smart Array 4200 Controller that Blue Screened after installing the Q299444 Security Roll-up patch. I flashed the BIOS (P12 now dated 1/08/2000) and the Controller Bios (now rev C V4.48) and rebooted and it still BSOD's. I tried installing the driver mentioned below (cp001095.exe) and now the system hangs on the OS Loader screen. 4 dots (....) and that's it. Any ideas/solutions other than to start from scratch. Thanks.
