No, you can do so... The client in this situation becomes the sole
negotiator for replication conflicts when you synchronize. I've been using
off line folder since W2K Beta1 on my laptop with NO problems.

I've read an article (Art ID 20373) on the www.win2000mag.com site where it
says "A Win2K file server isn't required". My question is, how do you
configure the "cache" in the "sharing" properties of a share on a Windows NT
4.0 Server? Does its absence mean that you can't configure a Windows 2000
laptop for offline folders when the share in question reside on an NT 4
Server?
