I had
Microsoft consult with us on our AD design and they were big proponents of
having an empty root, but never mentioned two. The advantage for this in
the event of a merger or acquisition as migrating the child domains is
much easier than trying to migrate a populated root.
I
think the empty root is a solid design but I think two would be a waste of
resources.
