If you exclude files or directories, then they will not be copied at all.
The exclusion is actually applied to the source files specified, then
mirrored at the destination.

If you wish to perform a general /MIR replication, but have robocopy NOT
delete specific subsets of the replicated files/directories from the
destination, then your script will need to move, or copy these files to
another destination outside the destination tree.

The switch /MIR is literally what it's name implies. A true MIRROR, just
not in real time. The exact mirroring happens every time your
script/command executes.

Without knowing more details about exactly what you are trying to
accomplish, that's about all I can suggest.

It seems that if you use the /XF switch, i.e "robocopy C:\source
d:\destination /mir /xf *.txt" the mirror will not copy or delete text
files from the source or destination. Of course you can replace *.txt with
any file, directory or wildcard.

Not sure it that helps or not.

Subject: DIRECTORY REPLICATION

Hi All,
I am implementing directory replication via Robocopy and I am using
the /mir switch which mirrors the source to the destination (including
deleting files from the destination).
I know you can exclude files from the source but can you exclude files from
the destination as well?
