apps, it doesn't matter what you called the original background file.

Copy the file, use a name with an ALT- char in it, and set it to read-only.
Should deter most.
Checking for laptop and all that is still pretty straightforward.

I agree......except whenone decides to rename their favourite BMP file to
the same name as the wallpaper. We now also have to copy the BMP down in the
login script (see how messy this can become? :-) We also have different BMPs
for desktops and laptops - no company logo on the laptop - to avoid the
risk that someone looking over your shoulder at the airport etc may realise
the potential for sensitive data to be on the laptop.
