You just want the specific machine to not be able to see that remote subnet?
You could:
route add 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.255.0 172.16.1.1
with the 172.16.1.1 being the interface of another machine that doesn't even
know that other router is out there. That might work.
Or delete the default 0.0.0.0 route from the system and just manually enter
your network routes. you'll have to get rid of your default-gateway too.
As you can see, all this is "possible" solutions and I don't know if they
will definitely work. I know setting up an ACL on the routers interface
will definitely work though. :) Might want to talk to the admin of the box
and ask them nicely to help you out. Only way I know of stopping access
cold.

Subject: DISABLING ACCESS TO UNWANTED SUBNET
I'd like to be able to disable my NT box from being able to reach
a certain subnet that is connected via a router. This particular NT box
needs access to the router, but not all of the subnets. I don't have admin
control of the router,
so I need to do it from NT. Is there an NT route command that would allow
me to block
the unwanted subnet or any other ways via NT?
Thanks All,
Brent McCrary
