True, but the integrity does not modify the database's data structure. I
would strongly advice not running a soft recovery, repair or defrag without
consulting MS Professional Support, let the store.exe handle soft recovery
when necessary and the maintenance can take care of the defrag without ever
need to down the (IS) service. If your worried about running an eseutil
integ verify, checking the log files after a full back is very effective.
You cannot backup a corrupt page, and the event logs will show it.

I think I would talk to PSS before running the eseutil. Let them decide
if this is a prudent path.

I seem to recall, that a corrupt page in the priv.edb can cause this

1. Do a full backup, scan the Application event log for any errors
related to IS

2. Do an integrity check, eseutil /g /v /ispriv, you have to be offline
for this.

Importance: High

Check the maintenance schedule for the server, when does it happen ?
Maintenance more in the contect of online-defragmentation of the store.

Does this server also have a SMTP outgoing/incoming connector (IMS) ?

What about the size of the store, do you see sudden increase in the size
of the information storein the morning ?

Has anyone experienced high CPU utilization from the Store.exe when
using Exchange 5.5. I've installed the recommended hotfix that Microsoft
put out, ran the optimizer again, re-installed SP6a, but nothing seems
to help it. Every morning, I am having to reboot the server because the
IS stops responding. If anyone has dealt with this before, please share
your resolution.
Thanks,
