I think the only thing you can do is scheduled reboots. Resource kit/system shutdown>set the delay time for the reboot

Is that 'shut down' as in powered off? If so, I don't think there is a way without pushing the power button.

Is there any way in windows 2000 to have the system startup at a specified time every night if it is shut down.
