I am located in the Netherlands. We still have a plant in Ft. Collins. Bob Free also used to work for us I believe. Didn't know him then, but from the postings on this list I still regret they let him go :-)

Renaming every outbound attachment to the only one allowed (whatever.xls) would also be hard to stop. Ninja does have the ability with "smart filters" to look inside a file with an extension of .xls and tell if it is actually an .xls file and not a zipped file renamed. Your now talking about a level of security that only turning off internet emaill would work. I sure hope my users aren't that smart. :) I used to live in Ft. Collins and had a good friend who worked at Woodward for years. Where are you located? dave -----Original Message----- From: René de Haas [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, December 28, 2007 2:34 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: File Email / Rights Management That's going to be very hard to block without blocking all external email. They can rename it. Copy it inside another document or even take a snapshot of it. How will you notice? -----Original Message----- From: Eldridge, Dave [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, December 28, 2007 3:34 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: File Email / Rights Management Sean Since this is the NT list you don't say what email application. If exchange you might want to check out Ninja from the list sponsor. You could do this and still allow them to send attachments within the company just not out and they could also still receive attachments from the outside or not. Very flexible. -----Original Message----- From: Sean [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, December 27, 2007 7:10 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: File Email / Rights Management Is there a way to allow users to use an excel or word document but prevent them from emailing it (even in zipped format) outside the company? ~ Upgrade to Next Generation Antispam/Antivirus with Ninja! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbelt-software.com/SunbeltMessagingNinja.cfm> ~ This message contains confidential information and is intended only for the intended recipient(s).
