When I am in front of the server and type in my username and password and
click to login the system flashes once and I am back at the
username/password dialogue boxes.

Xraid works just fine with Windows servers. You will probably have to
re-format the volumes to NTFS from HFS+, so you will have to back up and
restore everything (if you care about it).

As for your login issue - you connect to a share but you can't log in from
the console? What does "can't login" mean? Do you get an error? Never
prompted for username/password? What exactly doesn't happen when you try to
login?
