Ok am I the only one wondering what the heck else is going on with your setup Matt?
Why would you have to toss the DC because DNS records are gone? Did you figure out what happened to them? Can you re-add records? It seems like moving FSMOs, removing a DC, re-adding DC, then fixing DNS is a long road to just fix DNS.
