I find it a little hard to believe that VMWare was able to react this quickly to customer outcry. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but the "revised licensing" seems a lot like a Plan B they had waiting just in case customers responded poorly to the original vRAM entitlements that were announced with vSphere 5.
