They're all coexisting fairly peacefully on a single server right now. With Exchange and the DC and main file server, too, for cripes sake. So far, the server has not yet imploded into a black hole. While I certainly want to get them off other critical services, dedicating a VM to each does not seem to justify the cost. The databases are: Two things using Firebird, another thing using some weird one called U/SQL. And I rather suspect these apps are basically just using the database server as glorified table storage, with all the logic in the client. > RAM - you can't have enough. Max the box. The T710 comes with a four port NIC built-in. Since we're currently using a single NIC, I have been assuming that's sufficient. One for management, the other three for guest traffic as appropriate. -- Ben ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
