Don't disagree, but where did the 4 hours per machine come from?

500+ PC's. 400 at the home office and 100 others strewn all over God's 
creation. How much FTE hours would you think it would take to maintain 97%+ of 
them up to date with AV and patching? We have both of those centralized (McAfee 
ePO and Shavlik NetChk Protect.

My SWAG is both are 95% effective leaving 25 systems needing attention and it 
take about out 4hrs/machine to fix 'em up, so 50hrs/mo just to keep the wheels 
on. This is above/beyond figuring out what can be ignored due to churn of 
employee turnover, people on PTO, etc.

Does that sound reasonable?
