Subject: Mac OS & domain.local

We are running into issues with our Macintosh users who "bind" to Active
Directory. It looks like Apple is no longer going to support or help workaround
issues when a domain is using ".local" - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4041

The issues get pretty bad when you upgrade Mac OS past 10.6.7. Problem is,
later versions 10.6.8 is required for certain hardware updates, firmware
updates, etc.

Has anyone gone through the renaming of their entire domain?

Trying to determine the size of my problem, thanks. Ideas and advice welcome!
Robert
