Turned out it was a none issue the underlying OS was Windows 2003 server and it was what was damaged. Three and a half hours on site and I could not get to the virtual drives with anything I had with me, Linux and a Barts PE with XP. There was no Recovery Console installed originally and the powers that be were not interested in a parallel install or even installing the Recovery Console until a full backup was done. I can't even get a straight answer on the license and the box had none on it. I am waiting now to get some straight answers before I go back.
