Find a cheap resume service - something under $100. Let them create one for you - it should include an interview where they gather all your basic information. Chances are you won't use what they give you 100%, but it's a great starting place for phrasing and ideas. That's what I did when I needed a resume for the first time (similar to you) and it worked great. Even looking at examples from books and on-line, I wouldn't have gotten near the result I did if I hadn't used them.
