Is there a time differential? Are you running the batch file at the same time as it would run as a scheduled task? What happens when you run the batch file manually at that time? What happens when you run the scheduled task immediately, not at it's normally scheduled time?
In a networked environment, it's rarely a "batch file that does 'stuff.'" There are a lot of variables left out. The task may be irrelevant, the timing may not. Or vice versa, or both, or neither!
