Unity and Exchange together are always a fun exercise. You should see what your cost for the Exchange eCal (or eCal package) is versus Unity. Probably (usually) way cheaper to do Exchange UM.

Even though Cisco has a page on what steps need to be taken to do this with Unity 5, 7, and 8, I've heard some very uninspiring stories about how well Exchange 2010 and Unity play together....
