Do you know who the chipset mfg is and what model? You may have to go straight to them.
My suspicion is since this is new hardware and 2000 is old and unsupported, Dell didn't do anything for it. Everything went fine but W2K doesn't seem to have the correct USB controller driver for the new hardware, which is a Dell PowerEdge 1950. Called dell and they said the chipset driver is built into the OS. No extra driver needed. I tried reinstalling SP4 again, but that didn't do any good. Still got exclamation marks through the devices in Device manager. Tried removing them and rebooting, same thing. Anyone know of a generic USB controller driver I could load? The big problem is that these systems only have USB ports no PS2. So once the OS loads I can't logon locally only remotely through RDP. Normally that is fine. But I really would like to fix this. Any suggestions?
