One workaround is to use a self-triming SSD. This is also known as internal data garbage collection.
See here: http://www.electronista.com/articles/11/11/10/corsair.performance.pro/ We purchased some Kingston V+100s for this very reason. I have been told that intel and samsung drives have internal data garbage collection as well, but it is non-aggressive... aka it waits until the drive is not busy for some time. I don't see anything to verify this, so check with them on this. --Matt Ross Ephrata School District ----- Original Message ----- From: Jim McAtee [mailto:[email protected]] To: NT System Admin Issues [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wed, 18 Apr 2012 12:18:39 -0700 Subject: Using an SSD with Win2k3 Server > I have a file and application server in my home running Win2k3 Server SP2. > One of the main applications, a media server, relies heavily on MySQL > databases.
