Native reading format, vs PDF. (Resizable fonts, better graphical integration, etc) Buy it once, re-download it forever (the PDF could disappear. I do acknowledge that Amazon has pulled back eBooks before, too.) Better reading experience on e-ink readers. (Ever tried to read a PDF on a kindle?) Willingness to pay for a product, knowing a percentage of that goes back to the author.
