If you buy a Kindle book (and you have a 3G Kindle) it'll be delivered over 3G no matter where you are in the world (with a few exceptions)
Not so useful if you are sitting at home with your own internet connection, but great if you are travelling and want to order more books. Also, A4 PDFs are readable on the KindleDX, but not really readable on the smaller versions.
