Um, forcing host (router, server, desektop, whatever) to <whatever>-full but not the switch = very very bad
If the switch can't detect the duplex mode supported by it's link partner it will fall back to half duplex. I may sound harsh when I say it, but I've told people that if they can't set the link speed and duplex on the switch they DO NOT *EVER* touch the speed and link duplex on the host.
