Back when keyboards were $100, as the IT director, I used to soak bunches of
them in my bathtub with dishwasher soap, wipe them madly, rinse them madly,
shake them madly, and let them dry for a couple of days, inverted. My
unknowing users loved them. Then, a few years ago, I could find kb's for $5,
or free, coming in with new computers, so I just replaced them. Back when
mice had rubber balls, well, only one each, I would just pull out the ball,
clean the tracks, and put the ball back. Now, I just need to keep the mouse
"light area" and their keyboard pads clean.

My son, who in college is majoring in "Computer Gaming" - (no, seriously, I
cry quietly about this every day, and especially when I write the checks to
his university) uses keyboards costing a couple of hundred bucks and mice
costing at least a hundred bucks. As a gamer, he only uses "wired" mice and
kb's. Apparently, wireless externals have a delay that affects gamer play. I
use wireless everything, but I am old. I watched him once taking his kb,
which has its own electronic screen, all apart, cleaning each key, wiping
everything down, carefully replacing each key. It took hours. The mouse he
just replaces regularly, as new ones appear.

Anyone ever used one of these?

For $10, I'm tempted to try it.
