Also,

Get the Powershell RTFM by Doug Jones. Really good book on Powershell
filled with examples.

I am just starting to play with PS and all I found was V1.0 on the MS
website. Is there a V2?

Does this A/D provider do the same thing as the following from Quest?

Free PowerShell Commands for Active Directory

<javascript:popup('/activeroles-server/demo/chap00.htm',980,710,0)> The
ActiveRoles Management Shell for Active Directory is a set of PowerShell
commands (CMDLETs) that can be downloaded and used for free to perform
administrative tasks like discovering the AD environment, changing user
properties, modifying group membership, provisioning new user accounts,
and performing multiple other tasks within Active Directory

Thanks

PS added an A/D provider at RC2 (pre-release 1.0). It is improved in
version 2, but it was there in 1.

Last time I looked at it, ps 1 didn't allow you to do ad query's or am I
wrong? Are you using ps2 ? I must go back there if that is the case!

Do you use powershell from a desktop to query AD on the server, or do
you run it from the server itself? Does it matter?
